New Health Insurance To Continue for 2008

On January 1, 2007 we are switching our health insurance plan to an Health Reimbursement Account with Anthem Blue Cross.  The HRA operates differently from traditional plans.  This page and the links (to be added later) to the Anthem site will help you understand and utilize the new program effectively. We have signed up for the Luminos Plan which is a wellness program with some interesting features.  This program is designed to improve our health while protecting us from financial catastrophe.    New Rates for 2008

           Single -      450.00
           Family -   1,140.00

Major features
  •   The HRA funds the first 750/1,500 (single/family) of any medical bill.  This includes doctors visits, prescriptions or any other
Comments

When the medical bill is not charged to Anthem, you will need to pay the cost.  You will be reimbursed quickly by them.  Any unused HRA funds will roll over to next year.

Additional

A debit card will be provided for the 750/1,500 HRA funds.

  •   Deductibles are 2,000/4,000.  The HRA funds apply toward the deductible.
The Wabash Conference will reimburse you 50% of the amount you pay above $1,000/2,000.  Your EOB report is all you need to claim your reimbursement. Remember, the HRA pays the first 750/1,500 of the deductibles.
  •   Maximum out of pocket expense per year is 2,000/4,000.
The actual out of pocket costs will be effectively reduced 750/1,500 from the HRA plus an additional 500/1,000 from the conference reimbursement. The conference supplement pays on hospitalization but not on prescriptions not included in the EOB.
  •   The Pharmacy program is different from traditional programs.  After the deductible, it pays 100%
After the out of pocket expenses limits are met, all prescriptions will be paid 100%. Your plan booklet and related links will explain this in more detail.
